External Waterproofing Membranes

UV-stable membranes for everything the sky touches.

About External Waterproofing Membranes

External waterproofing has a harder job than internal. The membrane has to handle UV degradation, thermal cycling from 5°C dawn to 60°C surface temperature, foot traffic, planter root pressure and decades of rain — all without losing elasticity or bond. Use the wrong product (an internal-grade acrylic on an exposed roof, for example) and you'll be back inside 24 months.

Our external membrane range is built around two chemistries that have proven themselves over 20+ years of Australian conditions. Polyurethane liquid membranes (Sika, Tremco, Drizoro) deliver high elongation, excellent UV resistance and a seamless, fully bonded film that handles complex geometry around drains and parapets. Modified acrylic membranes are the cost-effective choice for protected applications under tile beds and screeds, where UV exposure isn't the failure mode. Both systems are AS 4654 compliant and certified for use under bonded tile finishes.

Substrate matters as much as the membrane. We stock the matching primers, reinforcement fabric, bond breaker tape and puddle flanges so the system goes down as a complete kit, not a mix of incompatible parts. Get the primer wrong and the most expensive membrane on the market will peel off the deck. Get the whole system right and you get a 15-year manufacturer warranty.

Whether you're doing a single residential balcony or a 4,000m² podium deck, we can quote the full system — membrane, primer, reinforcement, accessories and tools — and have it on site when the trades arrive.
